Assistant Maintenance serves as one of the leading faces of Velo Residential, including our corporate culture, mission, and values. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will work alongside Lead Maintenance to oversee a property undergoing renovations and daily Maintenance operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Assist Lead Maintenance with all Maintenance requirements of property.
  • Repair major and minor issues with equipment and buildings.
  • Complete maintenance and repair work orders, in a timely fashion.
  • Assist Lead Maintenance with the make-ready process.
  • Maintain a clean community and a safe workspace.
  • Maintain Swimming Pool as needed.
  • Complies with Velo Residential's safety and risk-management policies by attending and participating in the community’s routine safety meetings, completing required training on OSHA and other safety related laws and requirements, and by reporting accidents and incidents promptly and accurately.
  • Demonstrates customer services skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services, and completing assigned work orders with efficiency and urgency.

Skills and Qualifications:

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in multifamily maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, fixtures, hardware, and general apartment repairs.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work closely with the Lead Maintenance Technician and support the maintenance team.
  • Independent and proactive, with the ability to complete routine repairs and identify problems without constant supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues, think on their feet, and know when to escalate a problem.
  • Reliable, accountable, and safety-conscious, with a strong work ethic and ownership of assigned work.
  • Valid EPA Certification is required.
